Glassnode Integrates x402 Into Its On-Chain Data Catalogue — AI Agents Can Now Pay Per API Call With No Registration or API Key

Glassnode announced on August 4, 2026 the integration of the x402 protocol into its on-chain data catalogue, enabling AI agents to purchase blockchain data on a per-API-call basis in USDC with no registration, no API key, and no subscription required. An agent queries a paid endpoint, the server returns the required price, the agent settles in USDC, and the data is delivered with no human intervention. Glassnode also publishes its catalogue as a machine-readable skill file, allowing any agent to autonomously discover available metrics and their costs. Two integration paths are supported: Coinbase for Agents for users with a Coinbase balance, and Base MCP for a free on-chain wallet compatible with any MCP-supporting agent interface.
Why it matters: Glassnode is the most widely used on-chain analytics platform in crypto. Its x402 integration is the first time a tier-one data provider has made its catalogue purchasable by software, for software, with no human in the registration loop. Trading bots, research assistants, and market monitors can now autonomously access institutional-grade on-chain data.
